Our Community
Holy City Christian Academy is a community of families of faith. Meet some of our member families below and learn why they decided to join our school.
The Anthony Family
Tell us about why you decided to join our community and send your child to HCCA?
HCCA’s mission statement immediately resonated with our family. We were looking for a school with a strong Christian foundation, a biblical world-view, a deep love for our country, and one that would spark an unquenchable desire to learn. We were also seeking to avoid schools that taught inappropriate content and implemented medical / mask mandates. HCCA checked all of the boxes so we jumped at the opportunity to enroll our 8 year old son.
What is your child’s favorite lesson, activity, or part of the day at HCCA?
Gunnar’s favorite part of the day is recess, the lesson, and the work cycle. His first answer was “I don’t have a favorite because I love all of it!”
In your experience, how is HCCA different from other schools?
Students at HCCA have the freedom to move around the facility, collaborate with children in other grades, explore natural interests, experience independence, develop strong critical thinking skills, pray together, and study God’s word. This creates an exciting learning environment that keeps the students engaged throughout the day and excited to learn.
Have you noticed anything different about your children since attending HCCA?
We’ve noticed incredible changes in our son after just a few months at HCCA. While the list of positive changes is lengthy, there are two in particular that are noteworthy. First, he has shown a strong desire to learn about God and study His word. We are seeing the formation of a strong Christian foundation - one that will give him the confidence and comfort to stand on truth as he encounters the secular world around him. Second, his demeanor and ability to deal with adversity has improved significantly. He’s more kind, caring, humble, and respectful. And when he encounters adversity, he’s handling it with a calm patience - something we’ve rarely seen in the past. The work that God is doing through HCCA and the students is nothing short of miraculous.
What would you say to a family considering joining the HCCA community and partnering with us to educate their child?
If the family’s core beliefs align with HCCA’s mission statement then I would absolutely encourage them to join. I’m convinced that HCCA’s platform is about as perfect as it can get and I would want others to share in the same amazing experience.
